WESTFIELD CENTER, Ohio – Robert Sprague, Kirk Barry and Christopher Paterakis have been recently appointed to new positions at Westfield Insurance.

With over 30 years in the property and casualty insurance industry including progressive management assignments in the U.S. and Canada, Sprague began his career at Westfield in 2003 and will assume his new position as executive, workers’ compensation. Sprague’s leadership responsibilities will include underwriting and risk selection, statutory compliance, rate and price administration for Westfield’s workers’ compensation products. Sprague, a graduate of Westminster College (PA.), previously served as regional underwriting manager. With his wife and two daughters, he resides in Medina, Ohio.

Barry is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, with a BA in Business Administration. His new position will be executive, risk control, and in this role, Barry will be responsible for enhancing the existing teamwork between risk control, commercial lines and claims in an effort to continue to provide customers and business partners with value added services. Barry previously served as director, complex casualty claims where he most recently worked on the reorganization of claims analysts within complex claims to prepare for succession planning. Currently, Barry participates in Leadership Medina County and coaches baseball in Brunswick Youth Sports.

Paterakis has been appointed to Regional executive, commercial lines after previously serving as regional executive, claims. Paterakis has also held positions in human resources during his 15 years at Westfield. Paterakis is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace and is currently pursuing an MBA from there as well. After assuming his new position as regional executive, claims, his new responsibilities will include commercial insurance production for the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia. With his wife and son, Paterakis resides in Bath, Ohio.
